New Patients
First Appointment
Your road to orthodontic treatment begins with a comprehensive orthodontic evaluation. The evaluation affords you the perfect opportunity to meet Dr Moodley, interact with our staff, and see the office. If the patient is a minor child, it is essential that at least one parent attends. The consultation begins with a review of the medical and dental history and an insight into your reasons for pursuing orthodontic care, so that we may adequately address your main concerns. A clinical examination follows and includes an assessment of the teeth, the bite and the skeletal framework. Based on this Dr Moodley will be able to present her findings and discuss with you an effective and appropriate treatment for your particular needs. Treatment options are explored for your consideration. An estimate of the time in treatment is provided. It is then that all questions and concerns can be addressed.
Before treatment can commence, diagnostic records are necessary. These include cephalometric and panoramic x-rays, photographs and in some cases impressions of the upper and lower jaws. They are vital to be able to draw up a holistic treatment plan with the patient’s best interests in mind. As a convenience, we offer the opportunity for the diagnostic records to be taken immediately upon the conclusion of the orthodontic consultation. Other patients may wish to schedule the diagnostic records for another day, and we are happy to help with those arrangements.
